The Imp popped (impishly!) into the mind of the author in August 1993 and took up permanent residency. This happened during a course called, "Exploring Extraordinary Human Capacities", Jean Houston’s "Mystery School" at Hollyhock. When Jean described her program as "intellectually vigorous, psychologically challenging, spiritually demanding and exhilarating", Bev knew she had to be there!

But who or what is "The Imp" really?

Bev: "In 1994 I started keeping a notebook of all my Imp ideas.

"In January 2000, (in the middle of the night, when my most creative ideas come), the Imp popped into my mind to tell me I needed to write a book (or did the book write me?) and the form was to be a journal.

"Now this was just before a trip to Australia, so the actual writing started in April 2000 and was completed in March 2001. Then the adventure of researching and preparing for self-publishing began plus learning about the internet and websites.

"It has been hard work, sometimes going down blind alleys and experiencing a few "oops!," but always with a steady focus. In the Spring of 2002 the website and the t-shirts were a reality. The book experienced more delays.

"There is much, much more the Imp is dreaming up! It will happily take Bev the rest of her life to turn ideas into realities. Stay tuned!

"A number of artists had tried to ‘capture’ the Imp on paper. Finally in the summer of 2001, Povis Law did so delightfully!"   Top

• Has lived on the West Coast of Canada since age 3.
• M.Ed. in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia and, more IMPortantly, is a self-directed lifelong enthusiastic Learner!
• Varied career – Bank Clerk, Elementary Teacher, Stay-at-home Mom, High School Counsellor, Social Service Agency Administrator, Gardener, Nanny, Group Facilitator/Trainer, Sole Proprietor of a Singles Social Club and now a Personal Life Coach.
• Two wonderful young adult children from her first marriage. Remarried May 16, 2004. Wedding photos.

• Keen outdoors person – walking, camping, kayaking, x-c skiing, gardening.
